Doctor's Appt. Update

We are home from the doctor with a report of being dilated to a 4 and 80% effaced. She seemed confident (ha!) that we would not be making it to next week's appointment. She said that my cervix is very soft and thin and the baby's head is lying right on top of it. We asked exactly what that meant and she said that if my water were to break, I would dilate extremely fast! So, we were sent home with the command to keep on waiting and we will see when things get rolling! Anybody else getting tired of these posts where it seems like something is about to happen and nothing does?
