Miss Attitude

Emma has hit a point here at 21/2 where she likes to challenge her mama and daddy! We just returned from a shopping trip with several little fits!!! Paul and I are actively trying to help her see the error of her ways before #2 gets here! The hardest part may be in keeping from laughing at her since her word choice is so hysterical. She tells us to "be patient," that she "can do it all by herself," and many other choice phrases! It's so fun to watch her develop into a little person and grow into an even bigger personality - is that possible???

Summer Days

Emma and I spent the day at the pool yesterday with Lexi and Jaeda, our neighbors and good friends. What a relief the cool pool was! It was 90 degrees yesterday and Emma loved splashing around in the baby pool, but even more so floating around the big pool with her arm floaties. She has picked up where she left off last summer with being so brave in the water, so we have to keep a constant eye on her around the pool! She has grown so much and is loving these summer days. She loves to play with Jaeda, although they fight like sisters, and her two other best friends, Bree and Olivia. Emma is fascinated with the baby and was just upstairs watching cartoons with me when she felt the baby move. She giggles and puts her hand on my stomach to try to feel it again! At our last appointment and ultrasound, we had a picture of Baby printed off with the words "Hi Big Sister" typed on it. The picture is framed and stays in Emma's room. If you come to our house, she is bound to run up and get it to show you - she's very proud of it! I can't wait to see her with the new baby!!!

Week #28

A little late to start a baby blog, but thought it might be kind of fun, at least for my own records. My wonderful husband, 2 year old daughter and I are expecting the 4th member of our family in August. We had our 28 week appointment today and discovered that Baby is a bit of a Bruiser! We are firm believers in keeping the sex a surprise, so we'll just call him/her Baby for now! Well, Baby Perry #2 is in the 86th percentile, weighing in at 3lbs. 4oz. today - from the looks on everyone's faces at the doctor's office today, a big baby! Baby is also measuring 2 weeks early, which would fall into sync with our experience with Emma, who was thought to be big, came 2 weeks early and still weighed a healthy 8lbs. We got to have a 2nd ultrasound today, since the first one was not succesful at seeing all 4 chambers of the heart. Although we got that in today, Baby was fairly stubborn and made us work to see anything! Go figure, we'd get one more stubborn than the one we have now! Anyway, we can hardly believe that in 12 weeks this will all be over for the second time! We are so looking foward to growing as a family!
