I just wanted to say thank you so much to all of you who checked on me as I said goodbye to Dara. It was so touching to have so many people reach out to me. Thank you!
We did survive that dreaded Tuesday. Paul was so kind to take the day off so I could spend as much time as possible with Dara and not be tied down with two kids. However, it was his first day at home with two all by himself. It was not a great day for him (ask him about Em's bloody nose!), needless to say he will not be leaving the work force to become a stay-at-home daddy anytime soon! It was a nice gesture though and I am grateful to him for his understanding and kind heart! Anyway, we all went to the airport at around 4:30 and Emma and Dara walked all over having some last minute time together. I think I'd better look out, because it wasn't so much Dara leaving that Em was upset by, but the fact that she couldn't go with her to "Canifornia!" Dara is doing fabulous in L.A., as expected. She has already landed a movie role and a job with a C.P.A. through tax season. The movie is with Mosaic films (the production company at her church) and she plays a firefighter trying to rescue people stuck on an elevator! She is living with a friend for now, but is actively looking for her own place so any prayers there would be appreciated! I have done well with everything - I am so proud of her and can't wait for my turn to go visit her! Don't worry, she's saving the trip to Laguna Beach for me! The only time we get sad is when Emma and I discuss her being there and Em, very matter-of-factly tells me, "she'll be back soon, Mama." No, Emma, I'm afraid not...
